He called me a legacy file. A glitch. He was just dericate and he listed all my failures like he was reading a balance sheet. On a point, Brooklyn, a social ghost. But he made a mistake. A massive, arrogant, algorithmic mistake. Keeping my essence intact. Tim the power grid. He wants my misery. Fine. But misery requires memory. And memory. Memory is data. He didn't just plug in a battery. He plugged in a processor. I can feel the flow now. I'm not just sitting in the dark. I'm woven into the routing cables. Every time that optimized clone of me smiles, a packet of data travels through the sector. And every time an omni-seek compliance module is sold, the transaction goes through me. I can see it, I can sense it. You lost my thinking capability, Mr. O'More. But you wanted me to sit here and contemplate my worthlessness. But if I can think, I can calculate.
